Person critically injured in stabbing at Wicker Park train station — Highland Park Community news

A person was critically injured when they were stabbed at a Chicago Transit Authority train station in Wicker Park on Wednesday evening, authorities said. Around 8:30 p.m., a person was stabbed by an unknown individual at the Division Blue Line station, located at the three-way intersection of North Milwaukee Avenue, West Division Street and Ashland Avenue. A large police presence could be seen in the area around 9 p.m. in response to the stabbing. Chicago Fire Department officials told NBC Chicago they transported one person from the scene in critical condition, but it was not immediately clear whether the stabbing occurred on a train or on the platform. Video shared with NBC Chicago showed police had a person detained outside the station, though CPD did not immediately confirm if the person was taken into custody. No additional information was immediately available.
